    really i really orefer english to western western is just to roomy for me dispite all the complaining I’ve made over having leg cramps after riding hunter/jumper

    that sliding stop thing is really cool, my friends pony tought herslef to do in the jumper ing a t a show, slid to a perfect stop right infront of a jump, yep, that ponys a brat :)

    ugh, i hate when people say its not a sport. Jumping takes more energy, logic and endurance than soccer or baseball! And dressage takes more precision and accuracy than any ball game! How the hell is it not a sport? You dont see any fat olympic riders, now do you?

    Yeah, someone try and tell me its not a sport:

    You can train a football or soccer player in a few days. They learn easier. Horses, though, kick and buck, and take a while to train. You put more work into it. And the up and down motion when you ride a horse tones you up more than weight lifting.

    You try and ride Twinkie, my riding stable’s most stubborn horse. I’ve been thrown off 3 times this year. Broke my wrist. But I come back for more. I am more determined than Peyton Manning.

    try jumping an x racehorse over a 3′6 jump. Hes a really fancy hunter but hes crazy! I ride my friends stubbern pony too. The reason im riding him is because he threw her of and broke her arm

    I totally agree with you my brother is always saying how easy horseback riding is and its not a sport so I say put him on a horse and tell us riders its easy!!
    and good for you for not giving up even when u break ur wrist I am like that to I tell those horses who’s boss:P

    lol I used to ride an x racehorse- ARAB! He was just plain MAD! I ended up flying off of him while he galloped recklessly around the arena into a wall-ouch.

    for all those who think that riding ain’t a sport: try riding a barrel/speed horse, they only have 2 speeds:stop and go. AND then ride is in a bronc competition(i’ve done it, and im a girl).

    Webster dictionary definition: an athletic activity requiring skill or physical prowess and often of a competitive nature, as racing, baseball, tennis, golf, bowling, wrestling, boxing, hunting, fishing, etc.

    So yeah, I’d say it’s a sport….

    and it is rare sport that you can do even in higher age! Can¨t imagine stopping doing sport generally young because I’m too old for the sport. Horse-riding makes my future still full of sport! :)

    Grrrr… i hate it when people say that horse riding isnt a sport….. id like to see them hop on a horse and make it do reigning, dressange, cross country, showjumping… any equestrian sport and not fall off or complain. It takes just as much power and energy to do any equestrian sport as it does any other sport. It was ranked the third most dangerous SPORT in the world…. so hell to the people that think that its the horse that does all the work and that it doesnt even count as a sport!

    @PaintHorseChick426 wha- the third most dangerous sport?? really….! I never knew (I don’t find horseriding all that dangerous just yet – maybe because my horse gives me a safe feeling, I dunno)!
